I think that the food and restaurant industry should be partially held responsible for the rise of obesity in the United States of America. However, it also cannot be denied that there are many American citizens who have also been complacent and irresponsible towards understanding how to manage their diet and their nutrition by avoiding fast food or processed food and by eating home-made food and fresh food. The food and restaurant industry has not taken proper and adequate initiatives to cut down on the rise of obesity among the American citizens. There have been taxes levied on several foods and beverages like beverage taxes.
